Long days, plenty of sun, crisp mountain air, and the mountains right at your door. Haus Alpzeit sits in Schnann, in the municipality of Pettneu am Arlberg, ten minutes from St. Anton am Arlberg, and faces south, so you can enjoy the sun to the full, on your balcony, terrace, or in the garden. Thanks to good insulation, the house stays pleasantly cool even on warm summer days. No air conditioning needed, just the natural rhythm of the mountains.
Walking from the house
You don't always need the car to head into the mountains.
From Haus Alpzeit, it's a short walk to the Schnanner Klamm. The path leads you through the impressive gorge, along the water and up through the forest to the Fritzhütte, a lovely walk that starts right from the village.
You can also walk from the house to the Ganatschalm. For experienced walkers, the route continues from there up to the Mittagsspitze: a challenging mountain trail that takes you steadily higher, with impressive views over the valley and the surrounding mountains.
A circular walk through Schnann takes you past special spots and tells the stories and history of the village along the way.
Barbara and Evert are happy to share more tips on beautiful walking routes and challenging hikes in the area.

Cycling & mountain biking
From easy rides to real mountain adventures.
The Stanzertal and the surrounding valleys make a great base for cycling. Take the bike for a relaxed ride through the valley, or head higher up on the mountain bike for more of a challenge.
Right in Schnann you'll find Trailpark Schnann, with several trails for mountain bikers looking to test their technique and enjoy a good descent.
The mountains around St. Anton am Arlberg offer routes for every level, from an easy ride taking in the scenery to a serious climb rewarded with a well-earned descent.
After an active day, it's wonderful to come home to Haus Alpzeit: put the bike away, kick off your shoes, and enjoy the quiet.
Climbing & via ferrata
The rock face around the corner.
Schnann is also a great base for climbers. Right at the start of the Schnanner Klamm you'll find several climbing routes, ideal for a couple of hours of climbing without having to travel far first.
For those who want to go higher, the area around the Arlberg has several via ferratas and climbing routes. From accessible routes to real mountain challenges, there's plenty of choice for every level.
The combination of rock, mountains, and the impressive landscape makes climbing here something special. And afterwards? Back to Haus Alpzeit, shoes off, and time to enjoy the quiet.
Water & nature
Crisp mountain air. Clear water. Endless views.
The Verwallsee is a wonderful place to head to, for a walk, to enjoy the surroundings, or simply to get away from it all for a while. On a fine summer day, it's a great spot for a swim and to enjoy the water and the nature around it. On warm days, you can also cool off in the nearby village of See or at the swimming pool in St. Anton.

Summer in Schnann & St. Anton
A village that comes alive in summer.
Summer in Schnann isn't only about activity and mountains. It's the small moments and local traditions that make a stay here special. On Wednesday evenings in July and August, weather permitting, the Musikkapelle plays in the village: a lovely evening of music with a touch of Tirol, right on your doorstep. On Thursday evenings, you can enjoy a traditional Tyrolean evening in St. Anton am Arlberg, with music, culture, and local customs. On top of that, the region hosts various sporting and cultural events throughout summer, including cycling events such as the Giro von St. Anton.
Late summer & Almabtrieb
The mountains take on a golden glow.
In September, the mountains grow quieter. The days are often still wonderfully sunny, the air turns crisper, and the first autumn colours appear on the mountainsides. It's also the time of the Almabtrieb. After a summer on the high pastures, the cows return to the valley in a festive procession, decorated with flowers, bells, and colourful headdresses. It's a centuries-old tradition that's still very much part of life in Tirol. Around St. Anton and in the surrounding villages, you can experience various Almabtriebe and local festivities during this period. A beautiful time to walk, to discover the mountains in peace and quiet, and to experience real Tyrolean village life.
Being outside at Haus Alpzeit
Sometimes you don't need to go anywhere at all.
After a day in the mountains, it's wonderful to simply stay home. In summer, our back garden is there for our guests too. Find a spot in the sun or the shade, enjoy the view, and let the day drift quietly by. There's a picnic table and you're welcome to use the barbecue, perfect for a long summer evening outside. Each apartment also has its own balcony or terrace: a nice spot for a morning coffee, a drink in the late afternoon, or simply to look out at the mountains.

Come for the mountains. Stay for the feeling.
A walk from the house. A ride through the valley. An afternoon on the rock face. An evening in the village. Or nothing at all. Summer at Haus Alpzeit is exactly what you make of it. The mountains to discover. The sun to enjoy. The quiet to come back to.
