St. Anton for beginners and children

2 min read · October 2026

St. Anton am Arlberg has a name for demanding terrain, so many parents ask whether it suits beginners and children. It does. The ski school has its own children's area with practice lifts, and there are courses for first timers of every age.

Hoppl's children's area

The children's area of the ski school, Hoppls Erlebnispark, is reserved for children and their families. According to the Arlberg tourism website it has nine magic carpets, a carousel, practice lifts, a children's stage, a lounge and a house with a kindergarten. For small children that is a calm place to take their first turns.

Ski school close to Schnann

The ski school has an office at the valley station of the Nassereinbahn, the lift closest to Schnann. There are more offices in the centre of St. Anton and in St. Christoph. Course times, ages and prices for 2026/27 are on the ski schools' own websites.

Staying with children

For a family of four, Eisenspitze on the ground floor has two bedrooms, a bathroom with a separate WC and a private terrace. Hoher Riffler sleeps six. Every apartment has a fully equipped kitchen, so packed lunches and an early dinner are easy, and the ski storage has boot warmers. The free ski bus stops in Schnann. View Eisenspitze
